Belle D’ Mir Med-Spa has been a Dream in the making for a long time. As a Health Advocate and Cardiologist, Dr. Mir Varquez has a passion for people and is equally as passionate about helping her patients feel their best. One thing Dr. Mir Varquez #NewYouthMD discovered after being in practice for over 25 years is that her patients often lacked the confidence that comes from feeling and looking your best. I was born in Hong Kong to parents who escaped mainland China during the communist takeover. We migrated to the Philippines where I grew up. I completed pre-med in medical technology in Velez college in Cebu and went on to Cebu institute of medicine. I graduated valedictorian and magna cum laude from both schools. I topped the Philippine board exam (2nd or third place? It’s been a long time ago), then finally came to the USA as I was not able to undergo further training in the Philippines because I was an alien. I started my internal medicine residency, then chief residency, and then finished my fellowship in cardiology. I completed my residency and fellowship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. I graduated from medicine in 1985.In 1993 I started my first practice in Fort Payne, Alabama and after that moved to Cullman Alabama in 1995. I have been practicing in Cullman Alabama since 1995.
