Terrible service at Lakeside "Wellness". This office does not care about their patients at all. My husband and I both chose Dr. Joanna Nguyen as our PCP roughly 8 years ago because she was an in-network provider under our insurance, and her office was centrally located and they had good reviews (which they no longer have). We both had great visits with Dr. Nguyen and felt like we had found a great doctor for us. After she moved to her new location on Creekside Dr, the whole practice completely changed. I was told that my annual wellness exam would not be covered by my insurance because I had to re-establish care with them after missing a year or two (in which I had two babies and had no time to come see my PCP). I was flustered by the lack of empathy the receptionist had when I said I didn't think I could afford that, and that it would have been nice to know ahead of time so I didn't get blindsided. I asked to cancel, and she said I'd have to pay a cancellation fee. At that point I decided to go through with my appointment, in which I did not see Dr. Nguyen, but an NP. Nothing against NPs, but this is not the doctor that I have seen in the past and expected to see again. We spent less than 10 minutes "establishing care" and then I had to schedule a follow-up for my ACTUAL annual wellness exam. (The NP noticed my blood pressure was high, and I said, "You don't say!") When my appointment came around, the NP that I had established care with apparently quit right beforehand so my care was handed off to a completely different NP that I had never met. Based on the name, I couldn't even tell if it was a male or a female. This was without notice, since I just happened to check the details of my appointment using the online portal. I cancelled my appointment and haven't looked back. In the meantime, my husband has also had terrible experiences with them regarding payment, since our insurance changed and they do not accept cash payments from the patients they supposedly care about. His appointment was cancelled from under him, even though he offered to pay out of pocket for his long-awaited appointment. All they do is money grab and manipulate patients. I hope Dr. Nguyen reads this and recognizes that she had a great practice before, but now the faith that her patients had in her is gone. I can tell by other reviews here that we aren't the only ones who have wasted our time and money on Lakeside "Wellness".

I chose this office to establish care after an insurance switch. I had a really good experience here. Everyone was really friendly and up front about any fees and copays, the doctor is booked out for a bit so I saw a nurse practitioner, he was really awesome and listened to every one of my concerns and questions. They have a fee of 100 for no shows and last minute cancellations, but when you’re booked out that far that’s completely fair. I am very happy with my experience and look forward to putting my health in their hands.

You don’t ever get to see the main doctor unless you request her then they will put you months down the road to see her. The doctor is focusing mainly on cosmetic facial apparel. I give the main doctor a 1 and the assistant a 10.

Do not go here, as a physician myself,you get shoved around, you see the PA mostly, not the doctor, if even few minutes late, they charge you a no show fee/ and no option to talk to doctor or PA about how staff communicate. 4 mins after 3pm, the staff tell me I am a no show even though I am on the phone with them to get checked in? charge $100 fee, and put me on hold for practically for the rest of my scheduled time that could have been the time to see my doctor/ or PA! I am dealing with a serious medical issue and there is absolutely no compassion of the staff. They operate like robots, no heart,

I am a Cardiac Patient and have severe anxiety as a result of a heart valve replacement surgery that went wrong. It is funny the previous comment said that Dr. Nguyen was "Always with patients" because I have NEVER and I mean NEVER have seen Dr. Nguyen in my many visits. The purpose of mentioning my anxiety is important to my dealing with my this office. This office is all about their ancillary fees. The day of an appointment I had a fever, which turned out to be Covid so I cancelled 15 minutes before the early morning appointment and they assessed a NO SHOW fee. I couldn't believe that I would be assessed a fee when we have been told for YEARS not to go to the appointment if you have Covid symptoms. At my next appointment I was told to pay the NO SHOW fee or I wouldn't be seen. I reluctantly paid the fee. On my next appointment, I forgot and did not receive a reminder the day before. I got a call from Alexis in their office at the time of the appointment asking when I would be there. I told her I forgot and she was quick to advise there would be a no show fee. We got into a disagreement and she was snide and rude. I told her that I would not pay the fee because I should not had not been assessed the previous one. I told her that if they did not reverse the fee, I was going to search for a new Doctor. I never heard back. When I went to refill an anxiety prescription, the refill request was denied. When I contacted the office to find out what was going on, I was told by the receptionist, that Alexis went to Dr. Nguyen and had me removed as a patient. Dr. Nguyen was persuaded by an over zealous and rude employee (ALEXIS) to have me removed for "excessive" no shows. Two no shows. 1 was covid related and the other was an honest miss that I had no reminder of. In the midst of a panic attack I was told to go to urgent care or the emergency room to get my prescriptions filled which will cost me hundreds of dollars. The EGO of Alexis is resulting in a complaint to the Medical Board of CA.
