3:50 pm, arrive for 4:10 appointment Struggled to find the office because the confirmations did not include address or suite number and the building is not clearly marked for navigation up the stairs. Agreed that the receptionist is brusque/no eye contact, but consequently efficient and effective. I did have to ask her to repeat herself 3 times because I couldn't understand with the mask and her quiet voice. No points for or against. I also received an appointment very soon after I requested it which shows low demand, but high availability. 3:55 pm, Currently sitting in the reception area, sweating profusely because it's hot outside and there is no AC. Definitely concerned that I will likely need to remove clothes and present my body before/during/after sweating like this. 4:20 pm, It's already 10 minutes past my appointment and the waiting room is very full with at least 5 other patients. Very concerned that my appointment will go past the office closing time (40 min from now) or that my appointment will be too short to be effective. Also not counting this against the doctor, but there are some kind of creepy pictures at the front desk that are reading inauthentic/photoshopped to me. Kind of a red flag at a dermatologist's office. Thank goodness another woman in the waiting room got fed up and opened the door for some air... I would have assumed the receptionist would have done it by now... Making grumpy friends with other patients. 4:30 pm. Two other patients walked in ... Highly suspect they will see the doctor in any reasonable amount of time or before the office closes. One woman just went in and was waiting 45 min past their appointment time. Not the worst, but also not really acceptable either. Thinking I'm likely not coming back unless the doctor is for whatever reason nothing like the other reviews on Google. 4:50 pm... Still not in, but I think I'm next in line? Two patients bailed to the hallway outside to cool off. 4:55 pm, still not in... Just witnessed the doctor behind the reception desk and debating if I should cancel for a fee and try somewhere else or keep waiting to be disappointed. Door opening lady just left. The receptionist had to close the door and it's boiling in here again. 5:02 pm, in the room. No clothes need to removed but still sweating badly. Awkward exchange with the receptionist to collect my copay in the room rather than at the desk. I guess it was nice that it was private? Have already decided to just keep it to the immediate/pressing question instead of the carefully documented list of questions I had lined up for a specialist. I gotta get out of here. I don't think I'm going to trust her response anyway... Vibes. 5:10, one hour past appointment time. Still no doctor. 5:25... Exit. Nice lady who clearly wants to be helpful, but I think it's probably high time to reduce hours, extend patient windows to reduce load, and/or close shop and enjoy life.

Dr. Buckner is a very knowledgeable, professional, polite, honest and a very caring doctor. She is an excellent communicator. She doesn't rush you off! Dr. Buckner spends sufficient time with me in order to do an excellent job. I understand if another patient may require more of of her time so I am definitely willing to be patient and wait my turn. I very much dislike the doctors who nickel and dime me and only spend 5 minutes with me; those doctors typically misdiagnose me without doing a good job and they are typically not very honest but they still get paid for seeing me briefly! Dr. Buckner is a professional and she has never misdiagnosed me and she has always done an excellent job doing biopsies and removing things from my skin without scars! She has prescribed an excellent scar cream for me that other doctors did not know about! If something is not covered by insurance, you will definitely get a lot of value and results for your money with Dr. Buckner. There are dermatologists who do not know how to perform services properly so they end up bruising my face because they have poor technique and they rush through the procedure without using the right techniques. Watch out for dermatologists who have special rates that sound too good to be true for cosmetic procedures! Try Dr. Buckner and you will quickly learn that she is honest and she takes pride in her work to make sure you look your best and have great health! It is also very hard to find a dermatologist who is honest and Dr. Buckner is honest; she listens and helps with the health issues you need help with. She has helped me resolve many issues, even outside of dermatology, that I needed help with and she also referred me to great doctors when it was regarding something outside of her specialty. It is very difficult to find a doctor who is knowledgeable, caring and who really cares about your health; that is why I appreciate and trust Dr. Buckner. Unfortunately, doctors who spend only 5 minutes with the patient without really listening to the patient, often do not solve my issue and misdiagnose me; these kind of doctors are a dime a dozen and not like Dr. Buckner. So, if you want a doctor who doesn't really care about you, isn't knowledgeable, doesn't really want to help you, doesn't care about using proper procedures to ensure little to No Bruising and just wants to make a quick buck by rushing you off, then do not see Dr. Buckner! Only see Dr. Buckner if you want an excellent doctor who will do a great job listening, examining you in order to diagnose you properly and resolve your issue properly. Kelly is actually very professional and polite; Kelly is her office manager who does the job of several people. Perhaps, people who think she is rude do not realize that Kelly is simply focused on working rather than make small talk. I think the reviewers who described Kelly as rude and mean have misjudged her and were too quick to make assumptions about Kelly. Just because Kelly is busy working and isn't smiling a lot does not mean she is rude or mean; she has never been rude or unprofessional to me or any other patient who was speaking to her in my presence and I've been a patient for many years. In fact, as professional as Dr. Buckner is, I know that Kelly would not be working there if she wasn't professional and polite. I'm fortunate to have found Dr. Buckner who is such an experienced, knowledgeable, honest and caring doctor, since many dermatologists overcharge for their poor services and barely spend any time with the patient.

I've been going to Dr Buckner for 25 years. She definitely knows what's she's doing. First time diagnoses, she prescribes the right medication the first time. Never had to go back because the problem didn't go away. I highly recommend her! She's That Good!! Barbara B

I would not recommend this office. I am on specialty medication and needed a derm to send the script, and it's a lot of work to get a new specialist referral when on HMO, which are the only reasons I kept coming here for so long. As soon as I could change insurance, I did and found a new derm. Dr Buckner was late to every appointment I had with her--even when I was her first appointment of the day. I'm not talking 5 or 10 minutes; she was nearly 2 hours late to my first appointment with her with no apologies. I'm not sure why either, since my visits with her were always very short. I also felt she was very condescending when I would express concerns or asked questions. I also was not a fan of her constantly suggesting some new medications when what I'm using is working wonderfully. Most importantly, she never indicated that a change would be good for me, especially when I never expressed a desire to change my treatment anyway. She also scheduled very regular follow-ups despite the lack of change in my treatment plans, and I saw her more in a single year than I saw my previous derm in 5+ years. The office was overall very cluttered and dusty, even the exam rooms. Most derms I've seen have had me strip for full-body exams at least once, but thankfully never Dr Buckner as I'm not sure where I would have felt comfortable putting my clothes. Contrary to most reviews, I actually didn't find any issue with the front desk. Kelly may be a bit brusque and not your typical cheery and enthusiastic receptionist, but she never once failed to follow through on anything she committed to do for me. She's also one of the few people I've met in the medical industry that have tried to help navigate complex insurance issues with me.

Dorothy is a skilled, efficient, caring and kind person. I have been a patient here for about an year here, I am happy with the service I have been receiving from here. My treatments were easy and comfortable. The laser hair removal treatment went really good, had lasting results along with botox injections for smooth glowing skin. Great listener and a person. This a terrible doctors office. The girl at the front desk is always very rude and seems unhappy. The doctor is old always running late does not know how to stitch anything she put stitches in my arm all lopsided and then removed them after 1 1/2 weeks and then my wound opened back up and had to come back again. She so slow and doesn’t do things correctly. It’s time for her to retire. The office is not that clean either it’s very old.

I am very happy with the great improvement that my skin has shown. I absolutely recommend Dorothy J Buckner Dermatology to anyone who is looking for a chance to healthier and glowy skin. My acne had always been my nightmare and I tried so many products and saw many doctors to reduce my acne but never saw any improvement, instead my skin got more flaky and with much more acne. After seeing Dr. Buckner that’s when I finally started to see improvement. And now I feel much better about my physique and I thank Dr. Buckner for it.

Reviews here are right. Do not waste your time to go here. Doctor did not show up. Waited 40 minutes to be attended. Receptionist is super rude, no eye contact, no nothing. She couldn’t care less that I am there. Go find another doctor for your own good. I paid $30 for a visit. Then went back and asked for a refund. I was super angry because I wasted 40 minutes in that old building.

I have been treated by Dr. Buckner when I lived in San Jose CA 20 years ago. Since moving to Ohio, I have not been able to find a Dermotologist with whom I have such deep trust and confidence in. Before seeing her, I had various skin problems and could not find a doctor that provided relief for my problem. She has done just that. She is the the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend her.
