I have been a patient of Dr. Allen's for 16 years and he is truly the best doctor I have ever had. He has performed numerous Mohs and cosmetic surgeries with impeccable results. Dr. Allen always educates me before the procedures and he is consistently attentive, patient and compassionate. As you enter Dr. Allen's office, you are immediately greeted by a highly professional and welcoming staff, headed by the personable and efficient, Ann Marie. My most recent procedure, a lower facelift, was performed by Dr. Allen and his superb team exceeded my expectations. Communication at this office was severely lacking, and the staff seemed indifferent to the patient experience. I was told I needed to pay a $1,000 deposit for a skin cancer treatment and that it could cost more, but no one explained how much more or what to expect. When the final bill came, I was charged an additional $1,000 with no clear explanation, basically just told I signed a document in which I understood it could cost more and they couldn’t tell me how much. As my concern grew, and I pushed, the staff focused solely on their documentation and “covering themselves” rather than showing any empathy or concern for how confusing and stressful the process felt as a patient. It felt like they cared more about their legalities than their patients. Their online portal and website are also incredibly difficult to navigate. When I asked for specific guidance, staff repeatedly referred me to the main page without providing any helpful direction. As someone who has worked in the medical industry, I fully understand that costs can vary. However, there are tools and resources available to help educate patients about what to expect—and that simply didn’t happen here. It feels like this office may be overwhelmed and unable to properly support new patients. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them to anyone seeking attentive, compassionate care or transparent communication.

Dr Olander performed a MOHS procedure on a tricky area near my temple. Excellent job of stitching; no sign of a scar. And the MOHS procedure was performed professionally and flawlessly.

I visited them earlier this week to get a laser treatment on my bikini line and lip. Six months ago I paid $50 for each treatment. When I went in this week they told me that there was a price increase and that it would cost $300 for bikini line and $200 for my lip. When I ask why the huge increase, they could not give me an answer. I would not recommend the Dermatology Specialists.

Scheduling an appointment as a new patient was difficult and laborious. Sadly, I had to cancel it due to a sudden death of a close friend - which was beyond unpleasant! They are still charging me a ‘no-show fee’ which is an indication and affirmation from other patients’ negative reviews. They are just another unprofessional medical practice that scams vulnerable patients and their money in Boulder, CO.

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Huff and her team. I came to her with a dent on my nose that was left behind after another dermatologist removed a wart. I had already tried other doctors, even a plastic surgeon, and none were able to make any improvements. Dr. Huff not only took the time to clearly explain my options, but she also performed a procedure that truly made a difference. Her communication style is excellent, professional, personable, and easy to understand. I love the result! A special shout-out as well to Dalene, her medical assistant, who was so helpful with her clear directions and attentive care throughout the process.
