Pomperaug Plastic Surgery Services

Back Treatment

+

Back Treatment is a spa or medical service focusing on soothing and rejuvenating the back through therapies like massages, exfoliation, wraps, or targeted skincare, aimed at relaxation, tension relief, and improving skin and muscle feel.

Body Contouring/Coolsculpting

+

Body Contouring is proud to offer truSculpt® iD, a revolutionary non-surgical, body-sculpting treatment that allows you to personalize your ideal body in as little as one 15-minute treatment.

Botox

+

Botox Cosmetic is the brand name of botulinum toxin type A, or onabotulinumtoxinA, which is derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botox is a neurotoxin, meaning it affects the nerves of the targeted region.

Breast Asymmetry

+

Breast asymmetry needs to be corrected surgically when breasts differ from each other in a bra cup size in volume. If breasts differ from each other in less than one bra cup size, it is not thought to be in need for surgery.

Breast Augmentation

+

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammaplasty, is an elective cosmetic surgical procedure using breast implants. In addition to enlarging the breast size, breast augmentation can correct slightly sagging breasts or breasts that have lost volume due to pregnancy or weight loss.

Breast Implants

+

Breast Implants are surgical enlargements placed under breast tissue or chest muscles to increase size or restore shape after changes. The procedure involves anesthesia, implants, incisions, a recovery period, and follow-up care to monitor for results and potential risks.

Breast Lift

+

Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening and repositioning the surrounding tissue to create a more youthful and pleasing breast contour. A breast lift can also reduce the size of areolas which have become enlarged over time.

Breast Reconstruction

+

Breast reconstruction surgery restores the appearance of a woman’s breast, usually after mastectomy for breast cancer. There are several breast reconstruction options available ranging from implants to “autologous” techniques which use the patient’s own tissue to recreate a “natural”, soft breast.

Breast Reduction

+

Breast reduction, or reduction mammaplasty, is an operation where excess tissue and skin are removed from the breasts. The smaller breasts are then reshaped and the nipples are repositioned.

Clinical Facial

+

Clinical Facial is a skincare treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin with professional products. It usually includes cleansing, extractions if needed, a treatment mask, moisturizers, and may target concerns like dullness, acne, or aging.

Facials

+

Facials are spa treatments that cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize the skin on the face. They usually include cleansing, exfoliation, extractions (optional), massage, a mask, and a moisturizer to improve skin tone, texture, and relaxation.

Fillers

+

These products reduce facial creases around the mouth, soften nasolabial folds and marionette lines (the lines from the corners of the mouth to the jaw) and can be used to increase fullness of the lips. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement.

Hydrafacial

+

Hydrafacial is a noninvasive skincare treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin with a circulating vacuum and serums, helping to remove impurities, hydrate, and brighten the complexion in one session.

Laser Treatments

+

Treatments are performed in a series of 6 sessions spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the body part. Using laser technology, small facial veins can be treated quickly without bruising or long recovery times. Spider Veins of the legs are also treated with excellent results.

Latisse

+

Latisse is a prescription eye treatment applied as a drop to the lash line to grow longer, fuller eyelashes over time, requiring regular nightly use and follow-up with a clinician for safety and instructions.

Skin Care

+

Skin Care is a personal routine of cleaning, moisturizing, and protecting your skin to keep it healthy, hydrated, and clear. It involves cleansing, toning, moisturizing, sunscreen, and sometimes treatments for issues like acne or aging.

Teen Facial

+

A Teen Facial is a gentle skincare treatment designed for teens to clean, exfoliate, and moisturize the skin, often with a mild cleanse, a teen-friendly exfoliation, a soothing mask, and advice on daily routines and acne prevention.

I was so surprised to see that the only other review of Dr. Waitze gave her only one star! I had my breast reduction surgery quite a few years ago, but I am continually grateful for Dr. Waitze's artistry and professionalism! The surgery went smoothly and the recovery was quick and pain-free. The results are beautiful, if I do say so myself!

My first breast cancer diagnosis came at the age of 22. I underwent two lumpectomies, chemotherapy, and radiation. For the next 15 years, I lived with a mangled breast. (Surgeons who specialized in breast tissue were not available to me back then.) I had a sizeable scar on my breast and it was roughly half the size of my other breast. At the age of 37, I received my second breast cancer diagnosis. I opted for a double mastectomy with reconstruction surgery. My breast surgeon referred me to Dr. Waitze for the reconstruction. TL;DR: I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Waitze to anyone facing breast reconstruction surgery! Dr. Waitze is brilliant and capable, yet blessedly human. She was sensitive to the fact that I was a bit scattered due to my diagnosis, and she showed endless patience and understanding. We decided on the latissimus dorsi reconstruction and Dr. Waitze explained everything that I should expect. She did not sugar coat anything and she made sure that my expectations were based in reality. I must stress that she did this with compassion and humanity. She was not cold or brusque in any way. I appreciated her approach, despite being a bit fearful of how my new breasts would appear. Let me explain: Having lived my life prior to this surgery with very small breasts and being reluctant to go bigger, I was crushed when Dr. Waitze told me that the smallest size available to me would be much bigger than what I was accustomed to. However, she assured me that the size would not look ridiculous on my frame and that the placement would identical to where my existing breasts were situated on my body. A few weeks before the surgery, Kaitlin, Dr. Waitze’s PA, sat with me and my family and spent a good deal of time reviewing the entire post-surgery process, from how long I could expect to be in the hospital, to the prescriptions I would be on, to the visits I would be receiving from physical and occupational therapists once home, to how long my entire recovery would take. All of my questions were answered with patience. Fast forward to the day of the surgery: Dr. Waitze and Kaitlin came to my room after the surgery to check on me and to remind me of some of my post-op instructions. They were so warm and encouraging, praising me for how well I did (even though they did all of the work!) and showing me so much compassion. As time has passed since that first surgery (it was just over a year ago), I have gotten used to my new breasts and my new body. I am very happy with the appearance of my new breasts, especially considering what little Dr. Waitze had to work with. She is truly an artist and did everything she could to help me retain a feminine silhouette despite the loss of my natural breasts. She stressed that point several times leading up to the surgery, how important it was to her to help me retain my feminine shape. I am so grateful for Dr. Waitze, for Kaitlin, and for the entire office staff at Pomperaug Plastic Surgery. Every one of them has always made me feel like a person, not just a patient. I am confident that I got the best possible outcome for my specific situation.

I had a basal cell carcinoma removed at this office. The staff was very attentive, and the procedure was explained thoroughly beforehand, as well as considerations to prevent scarring and discussion of long-term expectations about the surgical site's recovery. Dr Waitze and her assistant kept me updated throughout the procedure (performed under local anesthetic), and were very understanding and kind when I became very lightheaded and dizzy after everything was stitched back up (this is normal for me). All in all the procedure was the best it could have been, considering this is a process that could be intimidating for someone who hasn't been through it before! Thanks!

I am not one to ever leave a review but I had to with my experience. If Tuesdays don't work well for you to come into the office because you have a question then look else where. My insurance approved my breast reduction with a 90 day window. I called the office with questions before scheduling the surgery, I was told to call back the next day to speak with someone else. I call the next day, was told my only option to have any questions answered was to come in for a consultation (again). The only day of the week they schedule consultations are on Tuesdays. So they expect me to come into the office, pay $250 for the appointment, miss half a day of work just to have a few basic questions answered that have nothing to do with looking at my body. (I was not sure If I could get the breast reduction done in that 90 day window which was why I had questions). I was almost in tears on the phone with the receptionist because no one would even let me ask my questions without telling me I had to come into the office to speak with the doctor. If the doctor doesn't have enough time/care enough to answer a question without making me come in I can't imagine how terrible the whole recovery process would be with her. I am not going back.
