Sadly I agree with the review summary. The front office staff were somewhat kind and unflexible. Dr. Plank has good bedside manner but I would say his care (treatment plan) is efficient to the detriment to the patient. Follow up is scheduled but with a nurse/MA so if you want a NP or MD for your follow up be specific in your booking so that the provider makes time for you. In general the scope of practice of the NP is smaller than other dermatologist so at booking also be very specific what your needs/wants are and if a NP can do what you want in that visit. I had two visits where I mentioned what I needed and booked with a NP only to find the NP couldn't do it and they STILL charged me the co-pay (ridiculous). And then high charges over what private Aetna insurance is even willing to pay. Example in office procedure charge $1,500, Aetna paid $715 and therefore I had to pay 689 out of pocket for. Ulitmately I would not book within this location and with this provider. I would say each location is not the same it seems with scope of NP ability, billing (ask for billing codes if you choose not to listen to the reviews). Advocate HARD for the type of care you want to receive and not listen to the provider because if they disagree this is not the provider for you.

Dr. Blake was an hour late for our appointment. He reviewed my CT scan and said that he could do the removal with a small incision and had a laser for any scarring. I was waiting for a call from his office to get the location for our surgery. After about a week I received a call that I needed to bring CT scan results. I told him that I had already done that and that I wouldn’t set up an appointment without having that seeing as I live an hour away. So I assumed that they had misplaced it, and I went and got another disc and result of my CT scan. They just called me today and said that I should go to her ear nose and throat specialist because Dr. Plank Said it looks too big For him to remove. Luckily, I didn’t drive all the way back out there to give him CT scan results again.

Don’t waste your time. Waited over an hour after my appointment time and was never seen by the doctor. Eventually I gave up and left. When I told the receptionist I had to leave and my appointment was over an hour ago she just said yes we’ve been backed up all day. Also after driving 45 minutes to this appointment there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. When I told the receptionist she said yes I know I have to go downstairs and get it. I’ll do it in a few minutes. Very unprofessional and unorganized office.

Dr. Plank performed a procedure for me 2 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the both the process and outcome. I went into my consultation having done my homework - on both the practice and procedure - so my comfort level may have been somewhat more at ease than others who require more direct support. Overall, I feel that my procedure was skillfully performed, as the recovery has been very smooth and the results to date are wonderful. I find the office staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Please, do yourself a favor and do use this clinic services. I wish I could have read all this reviews before making an appointment with them, also I wish there was zero stars review. I accepted to be seeing by a nurse because I had two emergencies: I had two cysts that were inflamed and needed antibiotics because they were painful. Lauren (the nurse who saw me) said she was sending my prescription to my pharmacy, and said I needed a surgery with them for my ear cyst, and one surgery with a dentist for my oral cyst. She said they don't write referrals. I asked them about what I was expected to pay for the surgery and they didn't have the information, but said they would get back to me that week. Never did. I contacted a few dentist offices but they all said they needed a written referral, but the Mid Florida Dermatology & Plastic Surgery clinic insisted they wouldn't give it to me. Lauren prescribed a lotion for my face, which was not emergency, yet it was the only thing I got from that visit. All my issues were not taken care of. I called the office 1 week later to ask about my antibiotic prescription that was never sent to CVS and they said Lauren was not there and I needed to talk to her. I said they needed to contact her because my relationship is with the office. They insisted I needed to locate her in another clinic. It is absurd! And a month later I receive a $107.43 bill to pay for a visit that I never had anything taken care of. Never had the antibiotic prescription, neither the dentist referral, nor the information about the surgery needed to be done at their office. What if those cysts are/were something serious?
