The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because my psoriasis is gone like never before and I've never had to wait long hours to see the doctor. I knew when it was the right time to make an appointment. I've been a patient of Dr. Waibel for almost 15 years, I can count in one hand how many times I saw her as my doctor since there were other doctors there. For years Dr. Waibel and her staff were great, then for some reason after 2020 a lot changed in the office. Staff turnovers, medical assistant turnovers even the doctors. Towards the lateral of three years until now I've had to use a specialty pharmacy. There are requisites, follow-up information that needs attention so that the correct pharmacy along with my insurance is contacted. Apparently they lacked knowledge or didn't care, due to this I felt I should have been put on their payroll since I had to do most of the leg work and that was a mission. In December 2025 was the last straw, one of the assistant I spoke with said come by the office to pick up a sample of my medication so that I didn't miss it until the issue with the pharmacy and insurance would resolve, so since I work close by I went during my lunch, the receptionist had no clue and had to ask someone else since the assistant I spoke with was not there. Long story short the other person that spoke to me who was condescending advised that they didn't have any samples and didn't know when they would receive any. By this point I was royally fed up. I'm happy to say that I will be returning to my previous dermatologist because my insurance had changed for 2026. Let me say that even though I have not yet seen the doctor the staff already knew what my medication was, the pharmacy to use and the insurance and I didn't need to do anything. I received my medication without skipping a beat, I should have left MDLI along time ago. I hope this review helps.

The staff is friendly, and the office is nice, and they are technologically advanced. Unfortunately my experience was having to wait over two hours twice inside of a month for my appointments. I can’t think of a time in recent memory that I’ve had to wait over two hours before the doctor even sees me when I have an appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early for both of those appointments. The staff did not communicate my culture results properly over the phone and the office was not ready to do any of the work I had made the appointment for on the day of my appointment. Again, the people are lovely, and it’s a great office, but be prepared to dedicate your whole day to an appointment at this office. I will be going elsewhere.

Quick and friendly service! Dr.Steele, her assistant, and reception team were so kind and made me feel comfortable during my appointment. They answered all my questions and gave easy explanations of what we were going to do and the aftercare. I was unsure I would find a good dermatologist but this place was definitely the place to go for care.

I waited well over an hour in the consult room at the coconut grove location. Arrived 9:15 and wasn’t seen since I planned accordingly getting to work at 11am and ended up leaving at 10:50 WITHOUT BEING SEEN. I opened the door twice and everyone that walked passed ignored me. It’s a shame this place has a nice interior, maybe they shouldn’t schedule so many clients at the same time. Obviously not coming back, don’t waste your time and go to another laser/dermatologist.

If you are a person of color, I highly suggest that you do NOT go to Dr. Waibel. I had specifically chosen Dr. Waibel since her website spoke to her extensive experience with skin of color. I saw her for hyperpigmentation on my legs (various scars from mosquito bites and scratches), and she recommended the Fraxel laser and assured me that it was completely safe for skin of color. I had the first laser treatment in November 2022 and the initial results were promising, although there was slight darkening of the scars after a few weeks. I "trusted the process" and returned in February 2023 for the second laser treatment, and again, the initial results were as expected. However, the treated areas began to darken by that summer and looked worse than they did before starting the laser treatments. I returned in September 2023 and was told by her nurse/assistant that there is always the risk of more pigmentation and that the only way to resolve the issue at that point was to use the laser over both entire legs, essentially to create a uniform darkened result. Sigh .... really? I reluctantly agreed to start the process, which focused primarily on the areas that had already been treated. I must mention that her assistant was extremely dismissive of my concerns, would not let me finish my sentences, and tried to rush me into moving forward with the service. I did not appreciate this. At this point, after having spent well over $1,000 resulting in severe hyperpigmentation, I sought out a dermatologist of color to correct this issue. My new doctor indicated that given my propensity for hyperpigmentation (which would have been evident by the scarring from small injuries like mosquito bites), a dermatologist who is competent in skin of color should have known that the Fraxel laser was not a suitable option for my skin. She then proceeded to use the appropriate laser for my skin type, and after four rounds of treatment, she corrected the darkening caused by Dr, Waibel and was even able to minimize the original hyperpigmentation. Needless to say, this was a costly and lengthy corrective process (but worth it), and on top of the +$1,000 that I had already spent and year that I had wasted with Dr. Waibel's treatment. I must stress that this was my experience as a person of color with skin that has a propensity for hyperpigmentation. With this in mind, I would seriously reconsider your choice of a dermatologist if you have similar skin characteristics.

Her treatment plan made sense, and I am very happy to say my skin has improved better and quicker than I could have imagined. I highly recommend Dr. Steele to anyone looking for a dermatologist.

Great Doctor, Unacceptable 60-Minute Wait (2/5 Stars) ​This office maintains an e strict 10-minute late policy for patients, but their internal scheduling is deeply flawed. ​Despite arriving on time, I waited for a full 60 minutes past my scheduled appointment time before the doctor finally came in. I had to complain twice at the front desk (at 30 and 45 minutes) just to be taken back to see the nurse. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned and the overall treatment felt unacceptable given the time I lost. ​The saving grace was the doctor. Once the consultation began, the doctor was absolutely outstanding and provided an extremely satisfying and expert level of care. ​Summary: The clinical service is top-tier and worth traveling for, but the administrative scheduling and the hypocrisy between their strict patient policy and their own hour-long delays are disrespectful of patient time. Be prepared for a significant wait if you schedule here.

I visited Dr Steele and her care and expertise was great. However due to very poor customer service from their front desk team and billing, I'm not sure I even want to go to the office. To get some information, I had to keep calling lot times, I had asked to speak to a Supervisor and the people who responds to their text messaging system only responds to the messages they want to. Extremely frustrating experience if you need any assistance with their billing and front desk.
