Skin of Culture and Hair Center: Dr. Nikki Hill Services

Anti-Aging Treatment

+

Anti-Aging Treatment is a cosmetic service that aims to reduce signs of aging. It may include skincare routines, facials, and procedures or technologies designed to improve skin texture, tone, and firmness, often using moisturizers, serums, light therapies, or gentle refinements.

Dermaplaning

+

Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a scalpel to gently scrape off the most superficial layer of dull, dead skin cells. Immediately after treatment, skin is visibly smoother and brighter.

Facial Extractions

+

During extraction, our aesthetician may use mechanical or manual techniques to remove blockages from the pores and restore pore structure. Extractions are often performed as part of a facial, but can be a stand alone treatment.

Facials

+

Facials offered at SOCAH Center include: Signature facial, GLO Facial, Gentlemen's Facial, Teen Facial, Back Facial, and Gotta Go Facial.

Fraxel

+

Fraxel is a laser device used by dermatologists to treat signs of aging in the skin. Treatment is effective on surface scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, actinic keratosis, and sun damage.

Hair Transplant

+

Dr. Nikki Hill offers several hair transplant surgeries including FUE, FUT, facial hair transplant, eyebrow transplant, and transgender transformation services.

Laser hair removal

+

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic treatment that uses concentrated light to target and destroy hair follicles, reducing growth. A clinician applies a cool gel or cooling device, then shoots laser pulses over the skin in short sessions, with multiple treatments needed for best results.

Microdermabrasion

+

Benefits of microdermabrasion include smoothness, reduced appearance of fine lines, brighter complexion, evened out skin tone, reduced appearance of dark spots, and cleared pores.

Microneedling

+

Microneedling is ideal for patients that want to improve skin texture, minimize scarring, and treat signs of aging. Microneedling is also an effective hair restoration treatment.

Tattoo Removal

+

Although the popularity of tattoos has surged over the last few years, eventually a lot of people end up getting them removed. Laser tattoo removal makes this possible. The number of treatments necessary depends on several variables including size, color, age, and the type of inked used.

I really wanted to write a positive review for this practice, but I can’t. Dr. Nikki Hill runs a practice that consistently falls short in both quality of care and customer service. There is little regard for patient privacy or discretion, and the staff is frequently rude and dismissive. I’ve experienced repeated issues over time, and I’ve finally decided to walk away. Patients are not treated with basic respect or humanity. I tolerated deeply uncomfortable and humiliating experiences solely to get results from the products, but the ongoing poor treatment is no longer acceptable. Today alone, I called several times before finally reaching someone—only to have the call disconnected. Instead of resolving the issue, the office then began texting me, which felt unprofessional and inappropriate. If you value privacy, discretion, and speaking directly with a doctor who genuinely cares, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are far too many better options available.

The staff is always welcoming, the atmosphere is calming and inviting. When I first started attending SOCAH my very first appointment was virtual that quickly changed to in person lol. Dr. Nikki Hill and her staff are so compassionate, understanding and go above and beyond to make sure you receive the treatment and services that you need. The patient experience is IMPECCABLE all the way done to the text communication and that’s hard to come by they respond within a reasonable time. I would definitely recommend for skincare.

First time at this office and practice. I saw the PA Kayleigh Karl and was checked in by a very nice young man. The PA diagnosed my situation and recommended treatment. She even had the office staff check to ensure my insurance would cover the treatments. The front office staff that checked me in and scheduled my follow up appointments were very personable and courteous. Great service all around.

I have always tried to support Black-owned businesses, especially those led by women who are serving our community. However, when those businesses fail to treat clients with fairness and respect, I feel obligated to speak out. Less than a year ago, I visited Dr. Hill’s office for a chronic skin disorder and was seen by the P.A., not Dr. Hill. Although I waited over 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment with no apology, the visit lasted less than 15 minutes. The P.A. did not examine my skin, was not encouraging about treatment options, but then prescribed an expensive medication with minimal guidance or insight concerning it. Because I pay out of pocket, I specifically asked how often I would need to schedule appointments to receive refills. I was told that I could obtain refills for up to a year without paying for another costly visit. A year is twelve months. However, last week when I requested a refill, I was told I needed an appointment—even though it has only been ten months since my last visit. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told by her that the P.A. had given me “incorrect information”, that refills require appointments “every three months” (which is false, as I had previously received refills without being seen that often and can prove it) and that I still needed an appointment because “it’s been over a year,” even though it clearly is not. When I tried to explain these inconsistencies and refused to be sidelined, the manager spoke over me in a dismissive tone, abruptly put me on hold without explanation, and then disconnected the call. This behavior is completely unacceptable. I am sharing this review to unfortunately alert others to poor business practices: This clinic has been inconsistent with information, lacks professionalism when an issue arises, and treats patients as secondary to profit—this has been my experience. I will not return and hope to find another African American dermatology clinic that treats Black women with respect. I also hope Dr. Hill ensures her staff provides accurate information and that her management team learns to treat patients with professionalism, fairness, and courtesy.

Today was my first visit and I was welcome by Ms. Dabney. Explained my inability to fill out forms on-line and she was an absolute Angel in walking me through the process. I was seen before my appointment time and PA Weaver and her assistant were professional, knowledgeable and showed they cared about my well being. I recommend this Center for skin conditions where you are heard, seen and cared for from entering to exiting. I look forward to my next visit where I know the quality of care will be beyond 100% again from beginning to end. Sincerely, CL Walker

Ms Karl and Ms Samantha were excellent as well as the male nurse who recorded my status. Ms Karl, Ms Samantha and the clinic staff are kind and considerate. Ms Karl, PA, assessed my circumstance and offered a number of options. I liked that she listened to my concerns and responded positively. She planned a course of action to address my condition after discussing it with me. We plan to meet again in three months for a follow up. Thank you everyone at the Atlanta clinic for your help and understanding.

The actual service is GREAT. I love my provider and the front desk staff. My one star does not reflect that. What it does reflect is how they do business. For months I have been trying to get in contact with the clinical/office manager to understand why I’m receiving a bill for a service that my insurance covers. I spoke to my insurance and it was stated that a Prior Authorization was NOT completed by the clinic and thus cannot cover the claim. From my understanding none of my appointments should have been made unless there was a current PA on file. Which they failed to do, not only that, they filed one for a date of service that I did not attend! What’s going on here? I’ve left countless messages, callbacks and voicemails to get in contact with someone about this and all I’ve been met is AVOIDANCE. I highly suggest you make sure your claims are filed appropriately or you will be stuck with a bill. Seems to me they aren’t trying to fix their error but give me the run around in order to get money from me. It’s unfortunate that I have to leave this review when I have been nothing but patient since August. Maybe someone will finally reach out to me and fix this.
