I am giving compliments to Karolina Baran! She had a beautiful personality and she was very helpful. I was upset about not getting my medication refill and she was on it right away. She had a kind heart a pleasant smile. Her whole attitude made you really feel like this is the place that I need to go home for my dermatology. She is a jewel for the office! Dr. Maria Al-Basha is the best dermatologist in the area! She is skilled and cares deeply about her patients and it shows in her work. I’ve been seeing Dr. Al-Basha for years for skin checks & acne and whether I’m seeing her or one of their providers I always feel like I am getting the best care. You can tell all the providers are well trained and follow suit with Dr. Al-Basha professionalism. The clinic is beautiful and the staff are always very friendly. I also really enjoy their aesthetic center. The diamond glow facial is amazing & not only makes my skin soft and exfoliated but GLOW. I’ve also been very pleased with their laser hair removal treatments. So far I’m seeing great results and can’t wait to come back to continue to see more progress!

I have been a patient at Edgebrook Dermatology for over 2 years now and they have been wonderful. I first met with Makayla for a consultation about my skin concerns. She was very professional and informative. I scheduled my first appointment and met with Dr. Al-Basha. At first it was for Botox. Then in 2022 I found out my skin cancer (from a cancerous mole I had removed in 2012 at a previous dermatology office) had metastasized. At that point my concerns for Botox had changed and it was on to skin checks every 3 months. Dr Al-Basha and her staff have been very compassionate and supportive since they found out about everything I have been going through. I just want to personally thank her and everyone at Edgebrook Dermatology for being so caring.

I also love that they take early appointments - most medical spas I’ve been to only open 9-5 which doesn’t work with my work schedule, so I love how convenient this is! Was referred by my GP due to a suspicious mole. I never saw the doctor. A nurse practitioner and some other employee came into the room and, from more than 5 feet away, the NP glanced at the mole for less than 2 seconds and said, “It’s not anything…I can already tell just looking at it.” Then, they quickly pushed me over to an adjacent area where they offered what they called “the fun stuff” and tied to sell me botox, fillers, and other nonsense. I’m 57 and nobody believes me when I tell them. Even if I looked 70, I don’t need or want any of that. I want to know if I have skin cancer. I have heard the doctor is good, but he staff is unprofessional and it showed more concern over squeezing money out of middle aged women than caring for patients with valid concerns. This happened several months ago and the mole still bothers me and even itches. I’m trying to find another doctor now.

Dr. Al-Basha herself is great. Explains things wonderfully and is knowledgeable. I do have an issue with being told to arrive at my appointment a half hour before, and then waiting until a half hour after my scheduled time to actually be seen. Very inconsiderate of my time. The desk staff is far less than satisfactory. One receptionist at the desk ( I will refrain from using names even though I definitely took note) is very rude and does not even make eye contact. I was told at the desk that because I may have been out of state ( I live on the boarder of Wisconsin and Illinois so sometimes get groceries in Wisconsin) I wouldn’t be able to have my appointment because I need to quarantine for two weeks. It would make a lot more sense for that to be communicated at the time of making the appointment, not at the check in desk. Over all not a great experience.

Waited 3 weeks for this doctor's office to call my husband to schedule an appointment after his PCP referred him and never received a call. I called them to schedule an appointment and was transferred to someone in the referral department who was at lunch. I left a message on their voicemail with my exact reason for calling and clearly stated my phone number twice. That was 5 days ago and still haven't received a return call. If this is any indication of how this office is run, I highly recommend anyone considering going to this doctor's office to go somewhere else just like we are doing.
