Couple of things we were very disappointed in . They scheduled my daughter for an appointment on January 2 which they was closed . We live almost 2 hours away so it’s not like they are close by to us. They didn’t call and tell us they would be closed or to reschedule the appointment. Whoever is making the appointments apparently isn’t checking if they are open on those days or not . We also didn’t realize until that day that after the beginning of the year they would no longer accept her insurance. How we find out was a type up letter on the door that said it . Never once did anyone in the office say hey we won’t be accepting your insurance pass this date so you might want to look around for another dermatologist. My daughter is on pills for her acne . It is very important she doesn’t miss or go any length of time with out the meds for her acne as it has started scarring her face . She has now missed her time frame window for her meds and has to start the process over again which means we have to wait 30 days after her first visit , then go to the next visit have them do her test and then put in for her script . It will be almost 3 months before she can get her meds again and that’s if we can get her in another dermatologist this month . When I called the office and told them you scheduled us on a day you was close and I live almost 2 hours away the receptionist was like yeah no I’m sorry or anything . Then when i mentioned the insurance thing and I said as a receptionist and office worker that is part of your job to stay on top of things like that and to let the patient know she said well we don’t do that here . We put a sign up on the door so that’s enough . Like really that’s your answer to me . No where in the office itself was there a sign I would of seen it . I neve seen the door one because any time we came my daughter already had the door open or somone was leaving or going and the door was already open where the sign was at . How unprofessional. The worse part is o would of paid cash for her appointment moving forward until we could get her into a Dr that accepted her insurance but how they handle the situation and then didn’t even care that they scheduled us on a day they was closed and never once told us about not accepting her insurance anymore . I was done . Apparently the ones in the office need to be retrained on making appointments and apologizing to they patients when they screw up . Never once did we get a sorry or anything . So unprofessional on so many levels

Dr Roth recommended radiation treatment for skin cancer. I finished up over 6 weeks ago. I have been in agony. the pain and burning are awful. I have also been sick from the pain. wound is open and oozing. contacted them, they wouldn’t allow me to see anyone in London office. saw 2 nurse practitioners in Richmond. they were not helpful. out of desperation my husband called the London office. they sent his call to Lexington. they were extremely rude. an office manager called and said she would have someone from London office call us. the lady called, didn’t identify herself but said I need to go to pcp for the pain and discomfort. husband explained again they caused the pain. my primary care doctor cannot help me. he asked that the doctor see me. the lady said he couldn’t see me or call as he was in their other office this week. made no sense. I’m sure the office had a phone. I then called back the office manager and left a detailed message begging for help with the pain. it’s been a week. I’ve had no return call.

Dr. Ballard at Modern Dermatology set my mind at ease about my daughters HS. For years, it was one Dr after another trying to find out what was wrong. But within minutes of her appointment, I was overwhelmed with tears due to peace of mind. I knew we had finally found a Dr.where my child would get the proper treatment and get well. They are a blessing to me and my daughter.

I have been extremely pleased with Modern Dermatology! I've been seeing them this year since my previous dermatologist stopped operating a clinic. Dr. Angela has been so kind and attentive. Taylor S. was my nurse most recently and she was wonderful as well! I've never had to wait long in the waiting room and you can just tell that they run their office efficiently. So thankful for that! Side note: the bakery in their complex is super yummy and a nice treat after an appointment! Ha!

Would give these incompetent office workers A negative 10 if possible! My son had an apt at 8am an hour away only to be told he didn’t have an apt!! Like I would have drove an hour to be somewhere by 8am and miss half a school day!!!!! Then they looked at me and asked if I wanted them to make him and apt I said you mean like the last time? They could care LESS!
