It’s painful for me to write a negative review about an African American dermatologist. I feel like I have to, it’s been several months since my last appointment. Please don’t waste your hard earned money on PRX for dark circles it doesn’t work!! I spent almost $1,000 dollars on these worthless treatments. Her esthetician kept saying “ this is a good treatment and it’s getting better” unfortunately there’s no change. I was led to believe this was a great treatment option They never said it would not work, they assured me it would! They wanted me to come back for follow up appointments at my expense and of course sell more of her high end products. I had enough sense not to return.

Dr. Miles is an exceptional physician. She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to listen attentively to her patients. I felt truly cared for during every visit—she has a warm, compassionate bedside manner that immediately puts you at ease. She explained my treatment plan clearly and thoroughly, ensuring I understood every step. Her attention to detail and commitment to patient care are outstanding. I’m so grateful to have found such a dedicated and skilled dermatologist. Highly recommend!

Dr. Miles was very condescending and dismissive. I came in with symptoms that she quickly diagnosed as psoriasis and CCCA. She "talked" to me for 7 minutes while dismissing my journey and immediately wanted to treat me with cortisone shots in my head. Her approach was to scare me into treatment with pictures of balding ladies. The whole experience as a new patient lasted 12 minutes and she was gone. This was very disappointing as a black woman experiencing these ailments to meet a black woman doctor and be dismissed.

Dr. Miles and all of her staff are professionals. She was recommended by a friend and lived up to recommendation. She was able to quickly assess my skin and hair issue, come up with a treatment plan, administer treatment and fill my prescription within 30 minutes of me being there. I definitely recommend this practice! She also pierced my daughters ear on our second visit and did a great job of calming her down and preparing her for her piercing.

Be aware. They only want your money! Truly unprofessional! I came in for an appointment 7 months ago to schedule Botox injections for my under arms. They did NOT communicate with me to keep me in the loop. I have called and they never responded. I came into the office in multiple occasions to follow up and only got the run around. Finally, I came back again to ask what was going on in person, since they wouldn’t call me back. Dr. Miles came out and told me my plan didn’t cover it before and I would need to start the process over again. And she could schedule me for a new appointment to talk about it today. I asked why no one told me that and she claimed they did. Which they did not! I asked why I could be paying for another copay, instead of them an appeal? And I asked what if it’s not covered again? She said then I could decide if I want to pay out of pocket. I am in the medical industry and actually once sold these products, so I know her response was utter BS! Do not waste your time with these unprofessional people!

I followed Dr. Miles from Fort Washington to her Gambrllls office. I had to see her recently for a recent skin issue. She saw me, gave me some lotions. When I tried to make a follow up appt ( my skin was literally two toned) to discuss the skin discoloration there was no follow up. I called three times. My allergist had to give me the prescriptions I needed. I am pretty sure I can find a AA dermatologist with better follow up and staff. My season with Dr. Miles has ended.

I was referred by my sister who is a registered nurse. I really thought that my hair loss was just gonna be that and eventually I would be wearing a total wig while Dr. Miles made me comfortable. Gave me something to hold onto. My hair is not falling out anymore And I thank her so very much.

My daughter told me excitedly that she found a Dermatologist with good reviews. I was happy for her, I asked her where the Doctor was located and she told me Gambrills. I said it's not Katina Miles is it. She said yes, have you been to her. I told her yes and no, I then told her about my experience (previously provided on Yelp-R.S) My daughter said she had really good reviews and I told her that she needs to read them all and that the staff are rude and should not be in a customer/patient services profession. We read a few reviews together and lots of them emphasized rudeness of the staff. After reading the reviews, I stumbled across a review from Nancy and I totally felt her frustration, especially after reading the response from Dr. Miles, I was in disbelief that a “professional Doctor” would respond to a patient in that manner. No apology, no empathy, just another slap in the face. Clearly Dr. MILES is the issue. I felt inclined to submit a new review based on what Nancy wrote and I totally agree with Nancy’s post. Furthermore, in my original post, I commented by saying that this practice would lose patients if they continued treating people unprofessionally and it appears they are keeping up with the same practice. There are plenty of good Dermatologist in the area, no one should have to experience this type of treatment when all they want is a good Doctor and professional staff.

I am glad I finally made the time to see a dermatologist, and am happier to find and see Dr. Miles. Although I could've been more prepared with my questions; during my appointment I felt fully informed and comfortable that Dr. Miles was confident in her treatment plan of my diagnosis. She is very knowledgeable and I felt as if I wasn't the only person dealing with these things and they could be resolved. I could tell she does quite a lot of services which is great if I ever wanted to venture more into cosmetic dermatology. I appreciated the ease of the pharmacy that she works with which made getting my prescriptions easier and even overnight! Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend my friends and family to Dr. Miles. After years of being a patient, I am still extremely happy with the care from Dr. Miles. From her awesome staff to gaining insight on whatever I'm dealing with being a patient with Lupus as well - she delivers!
