I called the salon looking to get a professional wash, cut 12 inches of hair for donation & then do a proper cut after. I mentioned this was out of the typical order, but I was fine with an added cost. I was told they do these regularly and it was no problem. When I arrived I was greeted warmly, loved the vibe of the shop & was seated quickly. Ashlei took me to her seat and during consult said she typically doesn’t wash the hair prior to a donation cut since she would have to wash it again (makes sense, I just would’ve shown up with my hair in better condition if I had known that prior). She also advised that we cut 11”, rather than 12” to achieve the style (photo attached) I wanted in the end. I said that was fine, I was disappointed but appreciated her expertise. She was very friendly, as was the staff and other customers. Ultimately she ended up cutting off about 13 inches for donation, which to even out ended up with me getting a wedge cut (photos attached). I was in such shock and wasn’t sure what to say, so I paid & did my regular 20% tip. After getting home and showing family/friends they agreed it was not close to the photo I had shown. It is so short she had to shave the bottom of my hair to even it out to the hairline, which was never my intention. I called to speak to Ashlei, who handled it professionally. She did end up refunding the cost of the haircut, but would not refund the tip. TLDR: Shop & vibe was awesome, haircut/process was not what was discussed prior to appointment/during consult. Was provided a partial refund.

I won’t go any where else! I have been going to Annette’s since she opened. The environment is clean, upbeat and friendly. My hair is the healthiest and longest it has ever been and I attribute that to what I’ve learned about proper care and techniques from my stylist. I felt heard and have trust. That trust was once hard to get after bad experiences before coming here. I am very happy and would be more than 5 stars if I could. The owner is a gem and always greats you with a smile!

My first visit at Annette’s was on a day that was Very important for me!! I came on Wednesday March 18 to meet with a Monica for a color correction. I had my hair colored the Wednesday of the week before at a salon in Clawson. The result was a terrible disappointment as the stylist used the exact opposite approach to the color I wanted! A family Member suggested that I make an appointment with Monica, so I did. She rescued my hair from the disaster I was left with from the first stylist. I could not be more happy with the great result! Monica was awesome in every aspect of my requests. I really appreciate the way she lifted my Self esteem, she was so helpful and listened carefully to what I had to say! I recommend her to Anyone who needs a great, new stylist. I will return for all future hair care needs.

I have been going to Annette's for a little over a year, and I couldn't be happier! I see Maria, who is an excellent hairstylist and cares about her clients. I let her take my naturally blonde hair to red last fall, and people who didn't know me complimented me on my "gorgeous natural copper color". She always makes sure you are happy with the end result before you leave. The rest of the stylists are very warm and welcoming, and they compliment each other on their work. I won't be switching salons any time soon!
