I had a very concerning spot show up on my chest and I could not get into my dermatologist at Health Partners until August!!! I found Schweiger Dermatology by way of online search for a private clinic that would take my insurance. Turned out that they could see me within a couple of days, which was so important in terms of diagnosis and easing my mind. Dr. Legvold was fantastic. She knew right away what my issue was and treated it immediately and easily. All of the staff were kind and professional. Thank you all so much for your wonderful care.

Dr Groth is awesome. I had recently lost my insurance during my accutane treatment and he was kind enough to get me in for a follow up. You can tell he truly cares about his patients!!

Had a good first experience with my first two visits here. Then today had a very poor experience. I had time sensitive questions about billing (which I did not feel comfortable discussing in a lobby full of people). So I went to the parking lot and called. Sat on hold for over fifteen minutes. So I finally gave up and went inside to ask questions only to find the receptionist playing on her cell phone.

I scheduled a doctor's appointment 2.5 months out, the earliest available, and immediately started receiving an INORDINATE number of texts. Do patients really need to be repeatedly reminded that they have an appointment over two months from now?? I also got a constant stream of messages about last-minute openings, but every time you click the link the slot had already been taken. Endless bother for no reason. Then on top of that, I kept getting texts saying I had a message but the actual content was hidden behind multiple links and login steps. All of this before I ever set foot in the office! Worst of all all these texts come from different numbers so each time you unsubscribe, many more come from other numbers. I eventually became so fed up that I called to cancel, even though it meant starting over with another provider and waiting another two months. Except even now that I've canceled, the texts continue. I just got a text asking me to reconsider: "convenient appointment times are available". Yeah right, no they are not, you don't have anything available just like every other provider. This is just plain harassment. Extremely unprofessional for a medical office. I would expect this from a debt collector, not a doctor.

PA Elliot Backer is excellent — knowledgeable and professional. Unfortunately, the overall experience at Schweiger Dermatology in Edina is severely impacted by poor customer service. It’s nearly impossible to get in touch with the actual office — you’re always routed through an AI phone system, which is frustrating and unhelpful. Additionally, be aware of their billing practices. Tissue samples are sent out of state, and claims are processed through BCBS of Illinois instead of BCBS of Minnesota. This resulted in a $750 bill for something that should have cost around $100. This kind of billing surprise is unacceptable and feels deceptive. Proceed with caution. After the fact…Schweiger said I can request for my samples to remain in state. Never mentioned this during my office visit. Zel was excellent but once Schweiger purchased them it went all downhill.

Misdiagnosis.....A friend told me I had a skin cancer spot on my back and needed to get it removed. So I got the first available appointment I could get at any dermatologist in Minneapolis. I told Dr. Backer I suspected skin cancer. Dr. Backer was 100% sure it was a seborrheic keratosis. No need to do anything. I asked him if we could send it to the lab. He said there was no need to because he was 100% sure it was a seborrheic keratosis and they don't send those to the lab. I asked him to send it to the lab anyway. He said there was no point to do it but he would do it anyway. Four days later I get the call that it was squamous cell carcinoma. If I hadn't demanded he send it to the lab I could have had big problems since I have a chronic leukemia.

I am not one to leave a bad review but I am wildly disappointed with the micro needling service I had done today. I was told over the phone when I booked the appointment it would be 300.00 and upon arrival was told it was 400.00. Not that big of a deal, but we discussed my concerns and problem areas and I explained I wanted my main point of focus to be my under eyes. The woman was lovely but did not at all explain that she was not willing to treat this area. When I got home and realized that the one area I wanted to be treated was not at all treated I reached out to her and said that i was surprised that none of my under eye was treated. She said she can not go above the orbital bone. However the treatment was close to an inch below my orbital bone. I also explained that I have had micro needling in the past and this area has always been treated and had she just told me during the consultation process that she was not willing to treat my areas of concerns, I would have went to a provider that would have. I’ve talked to numerous professionals and have realized that this woman gave me misinformation on numerous things. I understand that micro needling should not be done directly on the eyes and you can not go as deep in these areas, but the areas under my eyes I was asking to be treated is absolutely safe to microneedle and I find it a little concerning that I am better educated on this than she is. ultimately I feel mislead and as though I wasted 400.00 because she did not just tell me she was not comfortable of competent to treat an area of concern that a trained professional should be able to. Photo added so you can see how far below my under eye was treated.
