I have been going to Dr. Downie for 5 going on almost 6 years now and I truly am happy to have found a dermatologist who provides wonderful service to her patients. I initially came in for a keloid removal and over time I had other derm related skin matters. All of which Dr. Downie has provided proper care and treatment for each issue. It really matters to have someone who treats Black women’s issues as a priority and be such a kind physician. I have since recommended friends to her practice as I do not know anywhere better to get treated with respect as a patient.

I never felt rushed and almost instantly I felt as if I was a regular. I recommended this practice to anyone who feels there doctor rushes through a visit. 5 stars!!

I'm a first time client of Image Dermatology and it's been about three weeks since my first appointment and two weeks into my treatment plan. I waited to review because I have a fuller opinion at this point. First, the office is a beautiful house. Very inviting and cozy. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Melissa the assistant was personable while we went thru the preliminary assessment questions of my visit. I met with PA Megan who was so kind and actively listened to my concerns of dark spots on my face. Megan thoroughly explained and wrote out my treatment plan. After two weeks of my new skincare regime, my skin feels comforted and I'm beginning to see small improvements in the appearance of the dark spots. I'm very pleased with my first experience and would highly recommend to anyone.

After being a patient of Image Dermatology for over 3 years, I am saddened to write this review. I have been a patient of Megan and always found her to be a thorough and professional provider. I’ve had some recent concerns and called the office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Downie as she had closer availability. I received TWO text message confirmations for my appointment prior to and one email confirmation ( all attached below). I arrived to my appointment today and was told they “ couldn’t find my appointment”, that I could be seen however there were 6 people ahead of me which would result in over an hour and a half wait before I was seen. I expressed to the office that while I anticipated a wait, 1.5 hours was well beyond an acceptable wait time. I am an understanding person and have no problem waiting 30 minutes beyond my appointment time, even 45 minutes if there is an emergency however, 1.5 hours is nothing but a reflection of poor office management. Additionally, as my appointment was confirmed but somehow not coming up in the system, I asked for reasonable accommodations from the office. I did everything correct as a patient : I confined my appointment, I arrived early to my appointment and remained respectful in communicating my concerns. I requested, as the error was on the office and not myself, to be seen later today at 3:30. Again, reasonable accommodation request considering I showed the office proof that my appointment was confined by their system. The only options provided to me were to see Megan on another day and time or to see Dr. Downie during her next open appointment which was at 5:00 pm today. When I expressed that 5pm didn’t not work as I needed to head to work that time, I was offered to come at my requested 3:30pm time and wait 1.5 hours to be seen… so still 5:00pm. Very unprofessional and quite frankly rude. I’m not sure about this office, but I’m sure in business and healthcare, when a error is made by the practice, it is then their responsibility to fix the error without additional inconvenience to the patron. I gave this dermatologist office two stars purely for Megan, however this practice has lost me and my future additional referrals as a client.

As soon as I walked into her office, I was welcomed with a sense of warmth and professionalism that put me at ease from the beginning. The staff is great, professional, competent, friendly, and they all clearly collaborate to make a warm environment. Dr. Downie herself is totally wonderful. What really distinguishes her is her kind and infectious attitude. She was not in a hurry to spend time listening to my problems with my skin with such honest concern. She put me completely at ease and, for the first time in a long time, made me hopeful about my skin. She walked me through her recommended treatment protocol with such passion and clarity, and her enthusiasm was infectious. I appreciate her customized care and sheer knowledge of recommendations. She is a dermatologist with an excellent reputation and heart of gold as well. Dr. Jeanine B. Downie is hands down the best dermatologist I’ve ever seen! She is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also kind, compassionate, and easy to talk to. She took the time to truly understand my skin condition, provided an accurate diagnosis, and clearly explained the treatment options. What stood out most was how she listened to all my concerns and answered every question without rushing me. Thanks to her expertise, my skin has improved significantly the results speak for themselves! I honestly don’t have enough words to express how grateful I am. Her staff was also amazing, friendly, professional, welcoming, and very well-organized. The entire experience was exceptional from start to finish.

I want to share my experience with this dermatologist, particularly since my cousin recently asked for a referral to her. My advice was simple: please don’t go to her. Here's why: I specifically scheduled an appointment with this African American female dermatologist because I had been struggling with scalp issues for years. After many consultations with other dermatologists who seemed unable to address my unique hair texture, I was hopeful that she would be different. However, that was not the case. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was placed in a room and greeted by the doctor's assistant, who informed me that the doctor wouldn’t be able to see me that day. Instead, I had to see her. There was no option given for me to reschedule with the doctor, so I decided to give the assistant a chance. During the consultation, I explained that water-based products do not work well for my hair. The assistant mentioned that they made their own products and once had an oil-based option, but due to a manufacturing issue, they were in search of a new supplier. To my disappointment, she did not conduct any tests; she merely examined my scalp and insisted that I purchase their shampoo from the front desk. There was no offer of prescription options, which I found odd and concerning. When I inquired about the cost of the shampoo, the front desk staff appeared irritated, and I was shocked to learn it was between $50 and $75 for a mere 4 oz bottle with their company logo. Fast forward to a few years later, I finally found another dermatologist based on positive reviews. From that visit, I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. The condition was severe enough that I required medication injections directly into my scalp due to inflammation. Moreover, I received two prescriptions—a shampoo and topical drops—for a total cost of $0. While it’s commendable that the owner of this practice is African American, I noticed that the rest of the staff did not share this background. Given my experience, I can not recommend this dermatologist. My journey to finally receiving effective treatment has shown me that there are certainly better options out there. Updated to add some photos of the shampoo I purchased through your front desk. I don't know if you guys may have stopped selling this product with your company logo on it, but I am not a liar and only stated what I went through at your office.
