RACIST STAFF MEMBER. “The Spanish speaking patients take twice as long to be seen because we can’t understand them” “Well maybe they should go back to Guatemala where they came from”. This was the interaction I overheard from the two front desk personnel after waiting over AN HOUR to see a doctor. I immediately called the remark out of line and unprofessional to the desk person who made the comment to make her aware of her blatant racism and explained no matter what language someone speaks they deserve healthcare. She then decided to berate me not only inside, but also in the parking lot calling me a “little girl” and a “dumb liberal”. I’m a 30 year old woman. I was waiting patiently for over an hour and would’ve waited longer had the staff not made racist comments. When met with management who tried to diffuse the situation she said she’d “handle her” then tried to deflect and apologize about wait times when that was never my issue or reason for leaving. I will NEVER return to this office and I suggest no one else does. You’ll be met with a nasty, racist front desk.

Today’s appointment with Dr. Basuk went very well as usual. During a thorough exam, I am always confident she will identify a problem if there ever is one. She answers my questions and will double check an area when requested. As a longtime patient, I consider Dr. Basuk to be an expert Dermatologist and a compassionate person in this field!

I did not have a good experience with Dr Basuk. When I was in her office for the first time she was finishing up with another patient - when she came in she said “ anyone who moves to Florida away from their kids is selfish ( little did she know I plan on doing that in the near future ). I didn’t really care as long as she was a good doctor and her medical assistant was awesome . I bought an expensive cream that wasn’t very good and explained I was going through treatment soon so could not make a follow up appt yet . They insisted on giving me a tentative and called / texted numerous times anyway . To top it off they said they had to have my credit card on file but would not charge me for any reason . I saw a charge for $98 and change and called to investigate . They apologized and the office manager said she would talk to the Dr about it . The Dr called me and went right into offering me a cream for a precancerous spot she removed . When I brought up the money she apologized and said that was part of my deductible not met and there was nothing she could do about it even though I was told my card would not be charged . To top it off she said all her drs require a credit card ( funny but mine do not !) I have always followed up with my dermatologist every 3-6 months ( I recently moved from New Jersey ) and had never had an experience like this one

My family and I have been going to Dr. Basuk for years now. We rely on her expertise and professional staff for our skin health and well being. She is extremely attentive and thorough in her examinations. She listens to our concerns and addresses them in a kind and compassionate manner. Since melanoma runs in my family, we feel 100% confident that we are in the best hands and getting the best medical care. Her surgeons are equally as competent. I recommend this practice to all. Her office staff is always polite and very professional.

my wife and kids have been going to dr basuk for at least 30 yrs. i finally got on the bandwagon last week after being sick and tired of rosesca . i had gone to a doctor closer to my house that was useless. after some pills, a creme, and advice, its clearing up. she also found a small bit of cancer by my nose, to be dealt with in only 2 weeks from now. she cupped my head in her hands, looked me right in the eyes and said you will be fine. everybody here is going to take care of you. my wife went there one time, and can get anxious with medical stuff. she was a little shaky and dr basuk said she would drive her home. my kids love her. you can be waiting a bit but that means she is spending time with each patient, so its a good sign. she spent a lot of time with me. my previous last dermatologist , the exam was so fast you would have thought the building was on fire, and 2 different cremes later, zero improvement.

I have been a patient of Dr Basuk for over 20 years. Office staff is courteous and considerate of your time. I'm generally seen and out of the office within 45 min. from the scheduled appointment time. Over the years the Dr has identified and removed several areas of concern one of which turned out to be a melanoma. Highly recommend Dr. Basuk.

Dr Basuk is a highly skilled dermatologist. I realize that some reviews are critical of her speedy approach but she has never missed a diagnosis or treatment for me.At first I thought she wasn’t listening to me and was talking to her assistant at the same time but after four years I am sure she was indeed listening and was aware of all my concerns and treated them professionally. Her degree of excellence explains the occasional long wait before treatment. With all this in mind I highly recommend Dr Basuk as a dermatologist

I deleted my latest negative review because it was not about Dr. Basuk but about her billing department. They made a mistake on my charges and I became upset. Dr. Basuk is a great doctor; she healed the spot on my forehead that was cancerous and it’s now gone. She was nice to refund my money and I will always go to her if I have a new problem.

Dr Basuk is without a doubt the most professional and caring doctor I have ever found. I have been a patient for many years and she is always there to answer my questions and give me great care. I recently had an issue with Melanoma and Dr Basuk took care of me every step of the way. I don’t know what I would have done without her. I am so thankful to have her for my dermatologist. You could not find anyone better.

I wanted to share my experience to help others so I’ll start with the front desk, they were not the most friendly smiley people which made the atmosphere feel off. Before my appointment I must of called three times to make sure my insurance was accepted as they were not clear and kept telling me to text my card which I did but did not here back. The day of my appointment I called again and the lady said “well it must be because you didn’t send your paperwork in.” I was confused because no one told me I had to fill the paperwork out at home and text it. The medical assistant who came in before the doctor was not bad however when I was explaining what was bothering me she said “are you sure thats not acne?” Which I thought was strange and I was sharing that I had redness on the top of my eyes from my excema. The doctor wasn’t too welcoming. She did not make that much eye contact and would say snarky comments looking down. I felt like she was condescending when I was trying to explain why I was there. I also felt not validated as my eczema was called very mild however its something I dealt with for many years and just because it looked “not bad” at the time of the appointment, doesn’t mean anything. She kept cutting me off so when I was explaining why it took me almost a year (insurance and job changes) to find a new dermatologist she said “it doesn’t take a year to get an appointment here!” So I did not explain further because it felt like there was no point as she kept getting defensive. When I told her the only medication that helped me over the years she completely dismissed it and made comments about me potentially changing my mind and wanting kids as you cannot be pregnant on the medication. I felt again not heard as I was on the medication before and knew the risks. I tried to explain that I had no problem trying something else. The main thing that bothered me was that she “prescribed” a cream that I thought was going to be called into the pharmacy but it was actually a product she sold in her office so when I was brought to the front to pay, I was shocked when she said $50. I felt like I couldn’t say no. It really bothered me she or the nurse did not explain that it was something she sold and it was going to be that expensive. There was no regard or conversation if I could afford it or if it was a direction I wanted to try. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried it but it does not work on my excema and it actually makes it worse. So now Im left with nothing to help my break outs until I find a new doctor because frankly I don’t feel comfortable going back because I felt like I wasn’t heard.
