Do not go to this office. No one's know the correct information to give you and they are very unprofessional. They sent my son for blood work. I called to ask if the results came in. They would not give me the results over the phone. They said I had to make an appointment for that. I made an appointment and specifically asked if my son had to come and the woman told me no. The day of the appointment they told me my son did need to be with me. Then they go and tell me that they will call with the results. I said what sense does that make. I asked for that to be done yesterday and was told no. Then I said I'm here now and you won't give me the results. Now I have to wait three days for the results.

Dr. Shapiro and his staff are excellent. I went on for mohs surgery today. He had a phenomenal bedside manner. He was calming and gentle and instantly calmed my nerves. His staff is amazing also. I highly recommend.

Overall, Vanguard is subpar. Unprofessional front desk employees. Dr. Shapiro butchered my body with scars. I was examined initially by Nargiza Volokos. She found 2 suspicious Beauty marks and then shave biopsied them. (Perfectly) - no scar left whatsoever… first photo shows this. Pathologist agreed they were atypical, one moderate and the other severe. But it WAS NOT melanoma. I was advised to remove them and did so. That’s where Dr. Shapiro came in. I had to remind him of the biopsy results when he came in the room for surgery. Seems as if he didn’t even review what the pathologist concluded. He then cut at least a 4” long incision out of my arm & back for a pea sized Beaty mark. Mohs surgery is specifically for preserving the most possibly healthy tissue. Additionally, Mohs is not usually performed in benign conditions. And then once he finishes that one procedure on my arm, he then drops it on me that I have to come back in two weeks to have the other one removed. He just wants to bill my insurance. I was previously told by vanguard administration that both of them would be excised that same appointment… What really irritated me and inspired this review was that once Both of these procedures were completed after over 1 month, He then decided that there were three more beauty marks he saw on my body that he wanted to biopsy. He did the shave biopsies so deep, and I still have very ugly scars on my thigh, back and arm. Three months later, the scars are still very noticeable after using scar cream regularly. The nurse practitioner is so much better at dermatology than he is. I understand I’d rather be safe than sorry, but he did not have to make these scars so large for a tiny beauty mark that was benign. Again, how is the NP better at making my skin look good than the actual board-certified dermatologist that went to school for about 15 years?

Dr. Shapiro is very professional doctor. But you need to know that waiting time in office is about 2 hours. Front desk gorls are rude and will allow other patients to go ahead of you. Office manager will never call you back if you want to make a complaint. So my advice - look for somebody else.

I had a 10:00 app for my two year old son and they told me it’ll be a 2-3 HOUR WAIT!! the receptionist was coughing so hard she could barley talk. They scheduled like 20 people WHILE THE DR was doing a surgery. I was told to wait for the dr to finish a surgery and then 20 people were ahead of me. Apparently it’s normal to wait 2-3 hours. Would not suggest you go here!! Such rude service and disrespectful to people’s time.

Dr. Shapiro is a terrible doctor. I would not call him a doctor, I would call him a butcher. The front desk is terrible too. They treat you with disrespect. Don't go there, seek another place.

The office wait was 2 hours . I was told to be there for 2:15. I rushed there and had to wait for two hours in a crowded waiting room during COVID time I was going to leave . I asked the ignorant receptionist for my copay back and she was nasty and refused to give it back. She says ask all the patients that there is always a two hour wait. I work for a doctor and this would never go on in my office My son was seen for less than two minutes. I do not recommend this office to anyone . What a wasted afternoon. Nicole Marchisotto

Can say nothing about the doctor, my first appointment I spend over3 hours waiting for doctor to see me, second time I was after the surgery on my kidney and I asked if I have to wait than I'm not coming do to my condition. So the person on the phone told me don't worry about that I don't have to seat and wait, I left after half an hour without seeing the doctor because I was told that I have to wait, that office is overbook, it was my lust visit to that office, if you have nothing else to do than good luck, have no idea why they make crazy schedule and patients have to suffer
