I visited Schweiger Dermatology – Market Street in April 2025 to have a small pigmented lesion evaluated. Dr. Christina Chung briefly examined it and casually mentioned that some patients prefer to leave it as is, while others choose to have it removed. I said I’d prefer to remove it, but what followed was extremely unprofessional. Without any explanation of what the procedure involved, no mention of risks, no warning about side effects, and no eye protection whatsoever, she immediately turned around and sprayed cryotherapy near my eye while standing—without asking me to close my eyes or shield them, and without saying anything about what to expect. There was no informed consent, no explanation that this would be a billable procedure. It felt rushed and careless, as if she was in a hurry. The entire visit lasted around 15 minutes. Then came the billing disaster: • They charged $690 total for this brief visit • My insurance paid $482, despite Schweiger coding the visit incorrectly • I was then billed for the remaining $207.21, which I disputed in writing • Schweiger never responded to the dispute — and instead, they sent it to collections I now have a visible scar, and I’m dealing with a collections agency for a procedure that I was never properly informed about or consented to be billed for. My experience with this clinic was stressful, careless, and completely avoidable. What should’ve been a routine evaluation turned into a billing nightmare and long-term frustration. Patients deserve better — clear communication, proper consent, basic procedural safety (especially when working near the eyes!), and responsive billing practices. I got none of that here. I strongly advise against this practice if you value ethical care and transparency. ---------- Update 12/18/2025: After connecting with the office, I learned that the total charge of $207 was not covered by insurance and was indeed the full amount due. The previous amounts I mentioned, which I initially thought were paid by insurance, were actually just adjustments or discounts that weren’t clearly explained on the statement. I appreciate the clarification and have adjusted my rating to 3 stars to reflect that the billing confusion is now resolved. Nonetheless, I’m still not happy with the initial lack of clear communication, the absence of basic safety measures during the procedure and very poor billing support. If everything had been explained properly from the start, I would have paid the amount right away and avoided all the extra hassle. I hope this feedback helps improve future patient experiences.

Wonderful place! I've had two very annoying (but thankfully benign) cysts removed from my head over the past couple years. The staff is courteous and professional, and it's easy to schedule appointments.

A very accessible clinic. Dr. Chung’s energy is amazing. I received follow up the next day and has been efficient to communicate with Dr.Chung’s assistance through text.

After getting refused for an appointment for at least 6 months out by my normal dermatology place, I was able to get in as a new patient within a week and as it would turn out, I got a diagnosis that did need immediate attention. The PA and all of the staff were very professional and comforting.

The office and doctor are pleasant enough, but I went in for a skin cancer screening and the doctor was with me for maybe 10 minutes. They billed my insurance for a new patient 45+ minute visit (I’ve been to the practice before) and when I called they just kept telling me they bill the maximum allowable amount. I now owe over $300 for a skin cancer screening where the doc spent very little time in the room. I won’t be back.

I made an appointment here because I'd been trying for months to get an appointment at Jefferson Dermatology with no luck. But I'm so glad I looked elsewhere ! Both medical staff I interacted with were very kind and I'll definitely go back if anything else pops up.

I had a great experience with Schweiger Dermatology. I made the appointment through the Zocdoc app to make sure they took my insurance. I made an appointment with Rebecca Ohliger NP, and she was great and very helpful. The staff were also very accommodating and they took me before my appointment time because I was there early. I would recommend this to anyone for a yearly check up or any skin concerns or questions.

Visited late June 2022, and there was no wait for appointments. Great and friendly staff from the moment I walked in though when I left. They saw me right away, no sitting in a waiting room forever. I was still filling out the forms on the tablet when they called me back. They listened to all my issues, took their time with me, and gave me treatment right on the spot. Everyone was friendly, helpful, attentive, knowledgable, and made me feel comfortable from intake and insurance through the exam and treatment. Thanks, guys!! <3
