Dr. Cobbinah and her entire staff are phenomenal. I've been a patient for 3 years. Both of the Nurse practitioners are amazing staff is friendly. Plus Carmen who handles all of labs is incredible. A special shout out to Julis and Haley they both do a spectacular job. The other staff members i can not recall their names however they are also very much appreciated.

Absolutely love Dr. Cobbinah! She is my PCP and she does my laser hair removal. They have a great text system, which helps an anxious person like me. It does take awhile for some things to be processed but I feel like that is at any clinic, especially if the insurances aren’t cooperating. All in all, I recommend Essential Med Clinic. Dr. Cobbinah is attentive, takes time to educate, and wants to see you healthy and succeed in any health goals you have.

Had a follow-up visit via telehealth today for a follow-up on my annual exam, but that didn't happen. They want to charge me my copay, which I would have paid had it been for anything esle, but since this visit was for my annual exam results, I had an issue with it. Long story short, insurance tells me it's how they are coding it, which is why I am getting charged a copay. So I called the Dr's office and asked them how they are coding it "didn't get an answer ". After the back and forth, at this point, I just decided I would pay for my copay. WELL, there was a previous balance I had, which was not much, but I could not pay that & my copay. I asked about paying my copay today & I could pay the rest by the end of the week. After a brief hold, they tell me they can't do that, its policy, they said.. They need full payment before the appointment 😩 So at this point I don't have enough to pay for both, even if I would have rescheduled, I would've gotten hit with a $50 cancelation fee because it wasn't 24hrs prior to😳 So because the billing department didn't want to help my situation, Dr. Cobbinah has lost a client, all over $39.04💁‍♀️ Sad😥

Dr. Cobbinah is my general practitioner here at Essential Med Clinic. She is amazing and has helped me understand a little more about keeping myself healthy. She suggested cutting down on my consumption of red meat to lower my cholesterol. I was also at risk of hypothyroidism at the time in January of this year. Six months later I get my blood work done and I’m back to normal! She is kind, informative and caring of your needs and concerns. I’ve never had a long wait time and her and her staff are efficient in their care of patients. I highly recommend their practice to anyone needing new and amazing doctor.

Nurse Maude and Dr. Cobbinah are fabulous however all of their staff including billing and front desk are absolutely TERRIBLE! Do not recommend anyone deal with the headaches the staff gives. They lack professionalism and knowledge. Filing a claim for questionable insurance billing practices. When you dispute with their office they threaten with sending you to collections.

Her level of care is amazing, and I truly appreciate how she genuinely listened to my concerns and addressed each one thoroughly. It truly feels great to know she has my best interest in mind!Totally recommend!

I was referred to this clinic by someone since I was looking for a PCP. I have been struggling with inattentiveness, the inability to focus, and complete tasks. I decided to schedule an appointment to be seen for Adult ADHD. When I called to schedule the appointment, I specifically asked if I be seen as a new patient to be screened and treated for ADHD. "Yes, we can see you as a new patient for that" was told me to over the phone. I thanked the gentlemen and immediately scheduled an appointment online. I arrived at the office 20 minutes BEFORE my appointment (9:45a was my appointment), but didn't get checked into a room until about 10:55. After being checked in, the receptionist told me that my copay would be $150 since I hadn't met my deductible--okay. Then whenever I need medications refilled (which would be every 30 days), I had to be seen by the Doctor again and pay another amount of $80/each time-I complied. The medical assistant asked ALL OF THE SAME QUESTIONS that were in the new patient forms that I had JUST FILLED OUT. That was pretty frustrating because why are you asking me all of these questions again? The Dr. came in and was very standoffish in my opinion. She asked questions about my medical/personal history (medication allergies, surgeries, job, etc) and then asked if I wanted the flu vaccine. I told her no. She then said "What? You don't want the flu vaccine and you work around all those little kids?" NO! I do not want the flu vaccine and IF I did, I would have had it already. She then asks..."What are we seeing you for today?" This is annoying because how do you not know what I'm here for? I begin to tell her I would like to be evaluated/tested for ADHD. She asks what my symptoms are and I begin explaining. She the proceeds to tell me that SHE HAS TO REFER ME TO A PSYCHOLOGIST TO BE EVALUATED AND TESTED. Then from there, I can go to a psychiatrist or return to her office for medicine. Seriously? I have PPO insurance, I could have SKIPPED this phony visit and gone straight to a psychologist. The receptionist SHOULD have told me over the phone that Dr. Cobbinah could NOT DIAGNOSE AND TREAT ADHD and the appointment. She then tells me she will write a referral to a psychology clinic that she uses. The medical assistant tells me its not even in network for me. $150 later and the Dr barely listening to my lungs and heart, and I didn't accomplish what I set out to have done. Don't go to this clinic or see this dr. That's it, that's all.

Thanks for the recommendation for Essential med clinic with Dr. Freda Cobbinah. It was easy to set up the appointment online and I was able to complete all the forms online before my appointment which saves time. I had my initial appointment on Friday and the staff and doctor was thorough, attentive and friendly. Dr. Corbbinah was sure to make me feel comfortable while asking any questions and she answered them all. She reviewed my history and was able to tell me what the best plan would be to address my health issues and set up referrals and future appointments to take care of them. I’m so excited to finally find a PCP here in San Antonio that did not make me wait two months before getting an appointment. I highly recommend this office.

This was my first visit, I am very pleased with the Dr. Freda, and her staff. I was especially pleased with the medical service I receive. My experience with Dr. Freda was great and I can tell that she has concern for my best interest in my medical conditions, she have also suggested a medical solution to reduce my A1C and to produce a better quality of life for my health. I was impressed with her loving and caring medical staff and their assistance each one of them was great in attending to all of my needs. Dr. Freda is now my new primary treating physician, and I would not have it any other way. Dr. Freda is very kind and understandable and concern about my overall medical health and she take time to listen to my concern. Dr. Freda staff is supper and very friendly and kind. Dr. Freda medical facility was very clean and neat, and the wait time was very short. I highly recommend any person who are looking for a primary treating physician look no further Dr. Freda she is your answer. I wish everyone a happy holiday.
