I recently had a CO₂ laser treatment with Dr. Yu, and I couldn’t be happier with my results or the overall experience. Dr. Yu is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and detail-oriented — the kind of doctor who makes you feel completely at ease from the moment you walk in. He explained the entire procedure clearly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood what to expect before, during, and after the treatment. His staff was just as welcoming and attentive. The results have been amazing. My skin is brighter, smoother, and more refined than it has been in years. The under-eye puffiness and uneven texture I struggled with are dramatically improved, and the overall glow is better than I ever imagined. I feel refreshed and so much more confident. I found this practice to be overpriced, and I want to share an important experience regarding their financial policies and how they were communicated to me. The contract states that once the surgeon’s fee is fully paid, it becomes non-refundable. What is not made clear is that paying early actually puts the patient at a disadvantage. If you wait to pay closer to the deadline, you retain more flexibility, but if you pay early, you assume unnecessary financial risk—even if you cancel more than two weeks in advance. When I informed the practice manager that I wanted to cancel (not reschedule), I was told that she would “waive the cancellation fee” as if she were doing me a favor. However, after reviewing the contract, there is no cancellation fee listed at all—only rescheduling fees. This was misleading and created the impression that canceling would incur an additional penalty when, according to the written agreement, it would not. The way this was presented felt discouraging and confusing, especially in a situation where clarity matters. Patients should be aware that paying early offers no benefit and may actually worsen your position. My advice to others: do not pay early. Wait until payment is actually required. Paying in advance exposes you to unnecessary risk with no upside. While the staff was otherwise professional, the pricing structure and the way the financial policy was explained are things prospective patients should carefully consider before committing.
