Dr Ghohestani is magic. I would and will recommend him to everyone I know. The office staff are friendly and thorough and Dr Ghogestani, himself, is even friendlier and calming to a nervous kid.

Finding your location was surprisingly difficult. Being on the second floor with very little exterior signage made it a challenge, and the added confusion of looking for Suite 102, for most wouldn't think -upstairs only made things more frustrating. Once I did manage to find the office, I was surprised to see signs instructing patients to wear a mask and maintain social distancing — in 2025. The overall experience felt awkward and unnecessarily tense. Due to the signage and lack of clarity, I chose to cancel my appointment and leave. I later received a text saying the mask policy only applies to those who are sick, but that message came too late. For me, any business still maintaining COVID-era rules/ signage is not one I will choose to support. I hope this feedback is taken constructively — both for the sake of future patients and your practice’s accessibility. It's also interesting, how they also informed me that I now owe them money for said cancelled appointment. Finally, seeing how many bad reviews this office has, MOTIVATED me to leave my experience.

AVOID THIS BUSINESS. I never post reviews, but I wish I would’ve avoided wasting money and time here. You’ll book an appointment and still won’t be seen for another hour after your scheduled time. Then when you see the doctor, it’s literally a 30 SECOND consultation. But hey, my second visit was about 60 seconds! I don’t want to even get into the poor treatment he was trying to suggest, which I refused and had to make my own suggestions. (Why would I go straight into keloid steroid injections, when I have extremely oily skin? Accutane was the smarter move. My oil would keep producing keloids. It made me question whether the treatment was being designed for results or drawn out unnecessarily) I paid what I thought was my full balance — even received a refund — yet a month later, they charged my card again with no explanation. I’ve since switched to a much more professional and caring dermatology office — and I’m paying half now for better care. And before I opened my mouth, my new doctor gave me the exact treatment plan I was expecting. The smart, effective one. R.F. Ghohestani’s office charges high fees for what felt like minimal attention or care. I can tell the girls working there are trying their best, but I hope they don’t pickup his operational habits. Very poor way to operate a health facility. Rushing everything. And I’m getting my money back…if I have to dispute it or report this behavior to the Texas Medical Board or Texas’s Department of Insurance. This entire billing practice felt so confusing and unfair. I would’ve kept paying retail price if I didn’t do more research that he was In-Network. You figure they would’ve known that after taking my insurance card? *I had to slightly edit post’s verbiage, since the clinic emailed me accusing me of defamation and demanding I have 24 hours to take it down. I hope your office takes my passionate review as true constructive criticism. Thank you.

I advise no one to go here, especially females. I felt very uncomfortable with each visit. The assistants would come in the room when I was half naked before procedures asking for my credit card to pay for services or to sign paperwork. I purchased 4 laser hair removal treatments for $1600 and saw zero reduction in hair in the bikini area. The doctors' assistants don't seem like they know how to use laser hair removal equipment or know anything about the products they sell. And while a girl was lasering my bikini area and I was naked, the doctor just barged in for no reason. Also, for Dermatology/Medical treatments they overcharged me several hundred dollars and did not bill insurance correctly. When I went to another dermatologist at a different business, I only paid a co-pay of $25. When I told my other dermatologist about this place, she said she heard complaints from multiple patients about the Texas Institute of Dermatology. My other dermatologist stated I should have noticed hair reduction after just one laser hair removal treatment. Even more reason to never return. This place needs to be reported and go out of business.

Great Doctor! Very knowledgeable, He looks for the root of the problem before making recommendations for treatment. He successfully treated the keloids I developed after cancer surgery. I wouldn’t go to any other Doctor when it relates to my skin care.

I live in Pennsylvania and experienced sudden hair loss in a large, distinct area of my scalp. After consulting my primary care doctor and being referred to a dermatologist, I saw no improvement. Desperately, I reached out to multiple dermatologists and underwent every treatment imaginable—including scalp injections—but nothing worked. The bald, pale spot remained, and I resorted to covering it with a black Sharpie. Everything changed when I was referred to Dr. Ghohestani at the Texas Institute of Dermatology. I traveled to San Antonio, where he began my treatment. Following his instructions meticulously—every step, every therapy—within six months, the once-empty bald spot was completely covered with regrown hair. I’m endlessly grateful to Dr. Ghohestani for succeeding where others couldn’t. His expertise gave me back not just my hair, but my confidence. To anyone struggling with hair loss: I cannot recommend Dr. Ghohestani and his methods highly enough. Thank you, Dr. Ghohestani, for transforming my life.

I've had the worst experience with this office and physician. Going in to inspect a mole can be a nerve-racking experience. This doctor had no bedside manner and was quite dismissive. The wait in the waiting area was excessively long for a 3-5 minute visit. The treatment itself was painful. They prescribed antibiotics and an ointment but didn’t send it to the pharmacy. I kept calling and calling to ask them to please send the medication as I didn’t want to get an infection, they did it 2 days later. After 3 weeks, I went in to get my stitches removed, I was relieved to be done with this office. Two weeks later, I discovered that a stitch had been left at the spot. They also asked me to pay for the removal, but I refused by stating I would not be going in if he removed them to begin with. I arrived 20 minutes early for the stitch removal. An hour later, he arrived and removed what he said was hair which was a lie, since I had a friend who is a nurse inspect it the day before and she had said it was a stitch. He did not provide numbing spray and instead proceeded to scrape it out. It was terrible. I've never had such a poor encounter with a doctor. If you want a doctor who cares, please look elsewhere.
